Position Overview

Claudio & Associates, P.C. is seeking an Associate Attorney with at least two years of experience in family and matrimonial litigation to join its New York City practice. The attorney will handle a meaningful caseload and work directly with Principal Attorney .on case strategy, litigation, and trial preparation.

The firm offers hands-on mentorship, regular trial-skills training, and opportunities for continued professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle Family Court matters involving child custody, visitation, child support, paternity, and family offense proceedings.

• Manage contested and uncontested matrimonial and divorce proceedings in New York Supreme Court.

• Conduct court appearances, legal research, and legal writing.

• Handle discovery, motion practice, and evidentiary hearings.

• Negotiate settlements and maintain regular communication with clients.

• Develop case strategies and prepare matters for hearings and trials.

• Independently manage conferences and litigation proceedings.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.

• Minimum of two years of family and matrimonial litigation experience, including experience in both Family Court and Supreme Court.

• Ability to independently handle court conferences and evidentiary hearings.

• Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and litigation skills.

• Working knowledge of the Child Support Standards Act (CSSA) and New York maintenance guidelines.

• Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience

• First-chair or second-chair trial experience.

• Experience serving as 18-B counsel, Attorney for the Child (AFC), or legal-services counsel.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual base salary ranging from $110,000 to $135,000, depending on experience.
