CDL Class A Driver

Our client has been providing high-quality wood products since 1798 and has built a longstanding reputation as a trusted leader in the hardwood lumber industry. Position: CDL Class A Driver

Our client is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Driver to join their team. This is a full-time position with primarily local and regional deliveries. The role requires occasional overnight travel (approximately 2–4 nights per week during certain weeks of the month, with flexibility), but no weekend work. Delivery routes primarily cover DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware.

Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently deliver products to customers while following all company policies and procedures.
Ensure on-time deliveries using company vehicles.
Unload materials by coordinating with the customer, hand unloading when required, or operating a Moffett forklift.
Complete primarily day trips with occasional overnight travel.
Follow and promote all safety policies and procedures, with safety as the top priority.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness and proper operating condition.
Comply with all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
Complete required logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
Communicate with customers regarding delivery timing and address customer concerns or escalate issues when appropriate.
Maintain fuel receipts for IFTA tax reporting.
Operate an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to accurately track driving and duty hours.
Qualifications
5+ years of commercial driving experience with a strong safety record.
Valid CDL Class A license.
Ability to operate a 13-speed split manual transmission.
Working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Willingness to travel overnight as needed with a flexible schedule.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and operate a Moffett forklift.
Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
Experience delivering building materials is a plus.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug screening (including marijuana).
