Lead Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - DEXA & Mammography (MRT)

About the Role

A physician-led, membership-based healthcare clinic is seeking a Registered Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) with experience in both mammography and DEXA/DXA scanning. The technologist will play an important role in preventive health assessments, performing high-quality imaging while providing a professional, comfortable, and patient-centred experience.

Key Responsibilities
Perform DEXA/DXA scans for bone mineral density, fracture risk, and body composition assessment.
Conduct 2D digital mammography and 3D digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) examinations.
Ensure accurate patient positioning, image acquisition, compression, and technical quality.
Review images for completeness and perform additional views when clinically required.
Analyze DEXA results including BMD, T-scores, Z-scores, BMC, and body composition metrics.
Identify and promptly escalate significant imaging findings to the reviewing physician.
Follow ISCD, CMRITO, CAMRT, ALARA, and applicable provincial standards.
Complete daily equipment quality-control and calibration procedures.
Maintain accurate imaging, QC, and patient documentation within PACS/EHR systems.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the broader clinical team.
Provide clear explanations and compassionate care, particularly for patients undergoing breast imaging or unfamiliar procedures.
Support the development of imaging protocols and preventive-care workflows.
Qualifications & Experience
Registered with CMRITO in Mammography and Radiological Technology, or equivalent practice domains.
Current CAMRT membership with Mammography certification (Mammography 1 & 2) or equivalent.
CBDT® certification through ISCD, ARRT bone densitometry certification, or actively pursuing certification; ISCD CBDT® preferred.
2–3+ years of combined experience in mammography and DEXA/DXA.
Proficiency with 2D FFDM and 3D DBT.
Experience with DEXA systems and analysis software such as Hologic, GE Lunar, or equivalent.
Knowledge of osteoporosis, bone health, FRAX, and body composition assessment.
OBSP experience is an asset.
Current BLS/BCLS certification.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
Experience with PACS, EHR, and digital imaging systems.
Private clinic, executive health, or preventive medicine experience is an asset.
