Production Manager

We are an established granite fabrication company specializing in landscaping and architectural cut-to-size granite products for commercial, institutional, public works, and residential projects. Our Rapidan, Virginia facility fabricated dimension granite using CNC and bridge saws, wire saws, and specialized finishing equipment.

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily factory operations, manage production personnel, and coordinate fabrication activities with our project management team.

Position Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing stone fabrication operations to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

This position requires a combination of practical manufacturing knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a production team. The Production Manager serves as the primary link between the factory and office, ensuring that production priorities, technical requirements, and project deadlines are clearly understood and executed.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and maintain production schedules to meet project deadlines and delivery commitments.
Direct and supervise production personnel, including work assignments, performance, training, and cross-training.
Coordinate with project managers
Review shop drawings and fabrication requirements, identify discrepancies, and coordinate the resolution of technical questions.
Monitor production progress, labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and product quality.
Establish and maintain quality control procedures to minimize errors, rework, scrap, and material waste.
Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, tooling, and production supplies to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate production records and communicate scheduling updates, delays, and production concerns to management.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements and maintain a safe, organized production facility.
Identify opportunities to improve production processes, employee productivity, and overall factory efficiency.
Communicate professionally with customers when necessary regarding production schedules, delivery of products, technical questions, and fabrication matters
Qualifications

Required:

Previous experience supervising or managing production operations in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, production scheduling, and quality control.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and fabrication instructions.
Demonstrated ability to lead employees, establish priorities, and maintain accountability.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Comfortable working with computers and maintaining production schedules and records.
Ability to work effectively with both shop-floor personnel and office-based project teams.
Preferred:

Experience in natural stone fabrication, dimensional stone, masonry, or a related fabrication industry.
Familiarity with CNC equipment, bridge saws, wire saws, and industrial finishing equipment.
Experience coordinating production involving multiple projects with varying specifications and deadlines.
Knowledge of preventive equipment maintenance and manufacturing safety practices.
