Senior Attorney

This is a unique succession and growth opportunity. The firm's current corporate department includes a senior partner, senior associate, and paralegal. With the senior partner planning to transition into retirement around February 2027, the firm is seeking an attorney who can step into a key leadership role, develop strong client relationships, and ultimately inherit a substantial book of corporate business.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 8–10+ years of relevant legal experience, a strong corporate and transactional background, and the ambition to develop their own book of business and potentially advance to partnership with the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and advise a diverse portfolio of corporate clients.
• Handle sophisticated real estate and corporate transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transactional and commercial agreements.
• Advise clients on M&A, business, and general corporate matters.
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
• Work closely with the firm's senior partner and corporate team during the transition.
• Gradually assume responsibility for a substantial existing client portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and develop new business.
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to deliver high-quality legal services.
• Take an active role in the continued growth of the firm's corporate practice.
• Potentially develop an independent book of business and progress toward partnership.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of legal experience, preferably in corporate/transactional practice.
• Strong experience in real estate, general corporate, and M&A matters.
• Experience handling wills, trusts, and related matters is highly desirable.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and matters.
• Business-development mindset with the ambition to build and grow a book of business.
• Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of matters.
• California Bar admission required.
• Strong interest in a long-term path toward partnership.

Compensation & Opportunity

• Starting salary around $225,000, commensurate with experience.
