Litigation Attorney

Client Notes:  

Our office is looking for 3 days in office 2 days remote, unless they live more than 30 miles from the office. We do have one remote employee in San Diego. $180-200k salary for 1500 hours Bonus if they go above and beyond hours $800/mo towards group health insurance; dental and vision insurance with er contribution; 401k with 3% match after a year; 11 paid holidays; 80 hours PTO; we pay CA bar dues.

Role Description

The Litigation Attorney will handle all phases of employment-related litigation, including case evaluation, drafting pleadings, law and motion practice, discovery, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. The role includes advising clients on employment law compliance, reviewing and drafting employment policies and handbooks, and assessing risk in workplace practices. The attorney will conduct factual and legal research, manage case deadlines, collaborate with firm partners, and communicate regularly with clients about case strategy and status. Responsibilities also include participating in mediations, administrative hearings, and court appearances, and contributing to the development of internal templates and best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Calabasas, CA.

Qualifications

Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, conducting depositions, and preparing for hearings and trial.
Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, whistleblower claims, and related compliance issues.
Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
Effective client communication and counseling skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts in practical, business-oriented terms.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, work collaboratively with colleagues, and maintain organized case files.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
Prior experience in employment litigation or labor and employment law practice is strongly preferred.
