Occupational Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform skill acquisition assessments (ADLs and IADLs)
• Develop skill acquisition goals and intervention plans (ADLs and IADLs)
• Perform sensory assessments
• Develop sensory therapy goals and intervention plans
• Perform adaptive assessments and make professional recommendations
• Attend program trainings, person centered planning trainings, and behavior management review committee as needed
• Maintain written record of assessments, interventions, and progress towards goals
• Consult with provider and treatment team regarding policies and procedures in clinical care
• Consult with psychiatrist and other medical professionals as needed to coordinate medication with treatment plans
• Attend group outings as available
• Attend clinician and management trainings as required
• Report daily activities to direct supervisor
• Flexibility and commitment to work the hours and times required to perform the responsibilities of the job, including evenings and weekends as may be necessary
• Maintain a positive, open relationship with all management and staff
• Utilize all communication tools including FIN
• Maintain and advocate for all Flatrock residents’ rights
• Complete any additional tasks assigned from Clinical Supervisor

kneel. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds or more. May involve travel to other locations/agencies/meetings. May require evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Qualifications:
• BS degree with a major in Occupational Therapy
• Current, valid license in the State of Michigan
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
